Protect ambulance from contagion, the case of Mobara Fire Station

In 1991, one SaniCom System was introduced to the Mobara Fire Station, in order to sterilise its ambulance. Initially, the system was often used, but its usage was changed after a high-tech ambulance car came to the fire station.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the System

The new high-tech ambulance car carries computers and many precision machines for its patients. As SaniCom deploys the KX-1 chemicals in 10 micron particles, it can be far more effective against bacteria. However, such small particles harm such high-tech machines in ambulances. "When we want to use this system, we must cover those precision equipment with a vinyl sheet, so we cannot use the system for the new ambulance car so often," said an Emergency Medical Technician.

After introducing a new ambulance, the system is regularly used only once a month, and they sterilise with their hands as before. Now, the most important use of the system is sterilising the ambulance after conveying a patient who has a possibility to suffer from a serious infection. In this case, it is necessary to disinfect completely, and SaniCom System can work well for the purpose.
